This has been a great year for Arsenal. They have started the season very well and right now are in the top of the English Premier League with one game in hand against two of the top four clubs. There were some speculation and a move by the russian billionaire to take over Arsenal by buying huge amounts of shares and now I there is no need for financial injection or any take overs. It was an easy game for Arsenal, on paper but in football no game is easy. As it turned out, Arsenal had it pretty easy from the start against Derby County. Against Derby County, both of them didn't even made the bench, but even though they were absent, Arsenal didn't have a problem. 
Well Abou Diaby was put on the left side of mid field. He is a right footed central mid field player. That didn't have any negative effect on Arsenal, well it might have been if they were playing the top teams.
Anyways, Arsenal had an easy match on their hands. Abou Diaby who was playing out of position made got the ball, got past a couple of defenders just outside the eighteen yard box and took the shot. His 20 yard stunner landed in the top right corner. 
A great strike by Abou Diaby. Arsenal were 1-0 up at just ten minutes. In the 25h minute, Arsenal were 2-0 up courtesy Fabregas, Adebayor and Derby's poor defense. Fabregas's lobbed the ball to Adebayor who skipped past the keeper and scored the second goal for Arsenal. Arsenal had a lot of other chances before the end of the first half, but the keeper managed to make some great saves.
Five minutes into the second half, Eduardo Da Silva got the ball inside the box and was pulled back by the Derby defense. Straight away the referee, Martin Atkinson pointed to the spot. Emmanuel Adebayor took charge of the penalty taking duty. His penalty was almost stopped by the Derby keeper, who got his finger tips to the ball but the pace was a bit much and Arsenal were 3-0 up. 
Twenty minutes left in the match, Eduardo Da Silva set up Fabregas who hit the ball from about twenty yards. The keeper, Stephen Bywater got his fingers to the ball but it wasn't enough to keep Cesc Fabregas's long ranged strike out of the goal. Fabregas has been in great form lately and has scored six goals till now. Fabregas was substitute just after his goal. He was replaced by Denilson. Ten minutes for the final whistle, Denilson lobbed the ball near the 18 yard box and Adebaryor controlled the shot very well showing strenght and great balance against the challenge from the Derby defense. Adebaryor took the shot opting for placing instead of power and it went in. Adebayor had a hat-trick. This is his first ever hat-trick playing for Arsenal.

Arsenal are having a great start of the season. Since Thierry Henry left Arsenal, the young team have changed completely. Against Sevilla, Arsenals first Champion's league group stage match, they were again showing great spirit and quality. Arsenal started the match very positively and continues to their brand of football, dominating Sevilla. Arsenal's first goal came from a fortunate deflection. Francesc Fabregas was left unmarked just outside the eighteen yard box and he took the shot. Fabregas's shot would have been comfortably saved by Sevilla's keeper but a fortunate deflection gave the keeper no chance and Arsenal were 1-0 up in 27th minute of the first half. Sevilla had some half chances but Arsenal were dominating Sevilla in attach as well as ball possession. At the end of the first half, the scoreline was Arsenal 1-0 Sevilla.
Second half was no different. Arsenal were dominating every part of the field even more in the second half. Sevilla had some half chances here and there but nothing much. Arsenal got a free kick near the by line. Fabregas delivered the ball in and it was a great free kick by fabregas as it landed in the six yard box with Robin Van Persie unmarked. Van Persie had to short out his foot and it was almost a tap in goal. Arsenal were 2-0 up, courtesy of Fabregas's free kick and Van Persie's goal. Arsenal were looking great now. Arsenal were now in full control of the match. Adebayor did great to hold the ball up front and Arsenal were managing to keep the ball well. Fabregas, as always was controlling the midfield well. Sevilla created very little chances and couldn't even score a goal. Arsenal were set to win their first Champion's League group stage match but the match wasn't over, Arsenal's substitute Eduardo Da Silva had something else to add. In the injury time just before the referee blew the final whistle, Sevilla's defender made a horrendous mistake just outside the eighteen yard box giving the ball to Alexander Hleb. Hleb took advantage of the mistake and moved forward, made a pass to Fabregas inside the box. Fabregas, instead of shooting made a great first touch pass to Eduardo Da Silva who was unmarked in the box. Eduardo made it 3-0 to Arsenal. Just after that goal, referee blew the full time whistle. The score line was Arsenal 3-0 Sevilla. The only drawback to this game was Arsenal got a player injured. Tomas Rosicky picked up an injury and he had to be replaced by Abu Diaby on 49th minute of the game. Tomas Rosicky had a minor hamstring injury and will be out for about ten days.

Last Saturday was a great day for Arsenal and arsenal fan as Arsenal won the North london Derby. Arsenal moved to the top of English premier league table after grabbing three points against Tottenham Hotspur. Gareth Bale, Tottenham's new signing didn't miss the opportunity and curled the free-kick, beating Manuel Alumina at the near post. The north london derby continue. Tottenham Hotspurs defence including Michael Dawson for the first time this season looked quite shaky. In the 24th minute, Fabregas and Adebayor brought the ball forward and set up Alexander Hleb, whose drive was blocked by Robinson. Robin Van Persie then fired a shot which flew across the face of goal. No-one was there to put it in the back of the open goal. 
Fabregas remained very strong and held the midfield throughout the game releasing Adebayor, whose clever pass found Hleb in a central position but Paul Robinson was in a good position to deny the equalizer. Arsenal are through to the Champion's League group stage after they beat Sparta Prague 2-0 away from home in the first leg and a 3-0 win against Sparta Prague at home in the second leg. It has been a pretty good week for Arsenal. I would say, Arsenal had a great start of the season. The only sour point is, Mad Jens Lehmann whose mistake cost Arsenal couple of points in the English Premier League against Blackburn. Other than that, Arsenal are looking good. They are grinding out results in contrast to last season. Arsenal used to crumble if their opponent played physically. 
Arsenal played their next English Premier League match against Portsmouth. Portsmouth are a very good footballing side and they aren't a pushover. Portsmouth play fluid, eye-catching football. The first half was totally controlled by Arsenal. Arsenal got a penalty in the eighth minute when David James brought down Robin Van Persie. Emmanuel Adebayor took the penalty and scored from it. Arsenal were 1-0 up early in the match. Emmanuel Adebayor missed a sitter in the six yard when Alexander Hleb drove a low cross in the box. Arsenal should have been two nil up.
Arsenal were playing fluid, great for the eye football, their trademark and Portsmouth were struggling. There was ten minutes left before the first half whistle, when Arsenal got a corner. Tomas Rosicky delivered the corner and Gilberto Silva headed it towards goal, which didn't end in a goal. The header from Gilberto dropped in the six yard box and Fabregas reacted first and scored from it. This is Cesc Fabregas's fourth goal in just his fifth match of the season. Cesc Fabregas is having a great season. Arsenal were 2 nil up before half time.
Second half was a bit different, Portsmouth were attacking Arsenal from every direction but Arsenal managed to thwart almost every effort by Portsmouth. Just after four minutes in the second half, Phillipe Senderos got tangled up with Kanu and he was sent off. It was not intentional but Senderos was the last defender and the referee had no choice other than to produce a red card. Utaka, Portsmouth new signing took the free kick just outside the box and he hit it on target and Almunia punched it and Shaun Davis put it over the bar. Portsmouth were attacking Arsenal's goal but they couldn't break down Arsenal, even with just ten men. 
There were lots of chances at both ends. In the fifty-ninth minute, Tomas Rosicky scored the third goal for Arsenal. Fabregas, with his quick thinking took a quick free kick from the by-line and passed it to Tomas Rosicky who fired the shot to the far post leading to Arsenal's third goal. In just a minute past Arsenal's third goal, Utaka made a run from the right and crossed the ball to Kanu, who flicked the ball. Portsmouth scored their first goal. It was a fluke goal. Even though Arsenal were down to ten men for almost the whole second half, they managed to keep the ball quite well and they didn't stop attacking.
